Need Help Tracking Your Calories and Fitness?

Tracking your calories and your fitness activities can be a very difficult chore, that is unless it is fun to do and easy to maintain on a daily basis. I've been looking for an easy way to track everything that can actually help me lose weight and I finally found it. Well, my wife found it, but I downloaded the application to my phone, created an account for the computer, and absolutely love it.

This application or tracking program is called My Fitness Pal and is my current case study for Perfect Body Health. I am running a three month case study to determine if it can help me lose weight. And let me tell you, it is already helping more than I could have imagined.

Here's how it works:

1. Sign up for an account and enter your weight and your goals.

2. When you eat something, add it to your "food" and it will add in how many calories, protein, fat, carbohydrates and other nutritional items to your daily diary entry.

3. When you work out, add it into your diary and it will subtract the proper amount of calories to reach your goal.

4. Check your progress toward your weight loss, diet, or fitness goals.

It's very easy and it really helps regulate what you are eating. Before I eat something, I look it up in My Fitness Pal and see how many calories and such it has. It is a great tool for tracking your calories and fitness and will help you become aware of your food intake so your can eat right, exercise right, and live healthy.

Start tracking your calories with My Fitness Pal today. Also get the application for your phone so you can add entries and check food calorie counts on the go.

Here's a Breakfast Food to Avoid!

There is a breakfast food to avoid that you may hate, but it is very true. OATMEAL! Wow, can you believe it? The food you grew up with that you thought was healthy because you heard that oatmeal was good for you? Well, oatmeal is great for you if you eat the RIGHT KIND OF OATMEAL!

There is a breakfast food to avoid. You may hate it, but it is called "Flavored" oatmeal. You know, the kind you got that tastes like maple and brown sugar or apple cinnamon? Unfortunately, these "flavored" packets that contain "instant" oatmeal are TERRIBLE for you!

What if you add your own REAL ingredients into your oatmeal for breakfast? Is it okay then? Yes it is. The point here is to stay away from PROCESSED and ARTIFICIALLY FLAVORED oatmeal (and any other foods for that matter). Oh, and stay away from INSTANT FOODS as well. They are generally packed full of preservatives and other chemicals that are really bad for your body.

If you are not sure what toxins are or how they can harm your body, learn more about it today. Your body needs to avoid harmful chemicals that disrupt its natural process.

Serving Size - A Contributor to Obesity!

Over the past 50 years, restaurants have been changing their serving size to help make their meals appear more valuable and appealing to their customers. But, these larger serving sizes may be the reason why so many people are becoming obese.

Check out this article that displays the difference between a serving 50 years ago compared to a serving now. A CDC Infographic shows how today's super-sized serving size is the new normal compared to now.

Statistics from a CDC study have shown that simply eating one fast food meal per week with today's serving sizes can cause you to become obese. That's because there is too much fat, sodium, and calories in most servings.

I think the largest jump is the increase of fountain drinks that contain high fructose corn syrup. They've jumped from 7 ounces per drink sold to a huge 42 ounces per drink sold. High fructose corn syrup has been proven to inhibit the hormone Leptin which tells the brain you're full, thus causing you to be able to eat greater amounts of food at a sitting.

Red alert for humanity: Chemical damage can be inherited by offspring through unlimited generations.

Here is a powerful article about the dangers of chemicals in the things we eat, are exposed to, and come in contact with regularly. I think I like reading what other people have to say about the article at the bottom (in the comments) more than the story.

Sucralose - Is it Really a Safe Alternative?

Sucralose is a common artificial sweetener that is taking the sweetener market by storm. Most of ingested product is not broken down by the human body, so it is considered mostly non-caloric. It is about 600 times as sweet as sucrose (table sugar), two times as sweet as saccharin, and three times as sweet as aspartame. All in all, it sounds like a very safe alternative to other sweeteners.

Here are some more vital facts you should know about sucralose that may change your mind. It is a highly processed natural substance with three chlorine atoms. In other words, it is chlorinated sugar. This chemical compound been shown to damage vital organs of the body such as the thymus gland and can also inflame the liver and kidneys.

Chlorine is a dangerous natural antiseptic chemical that can harm the human digestive system and will destroy microflora leading to candida formation, irritable bowel syndrome, ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, obesity and cachexia. Though normally not ingested, when you eat sucralose, you are ingesting chlorine in small doses. Over time, or in larger quantities, this can be very damaging to the body.

To help you avoid the intake of sucralose, here are some of the common sweeteners that are made with chlorine: Splenda, Sukrana, SucraPlus, Candys, Cukren and Nevella.

If you need to sweeten something, stick to natural, unprocessed sugar. If you are afraid of the calories or carbohydrates, there are other alternatives (besides artificial sweeteners) that you can pursue to help your body burn off the natural sugar more effectively.

Sucralose and other toxins are dangerous to the body. Learn as much as you can so you can stop poisoning your body and start living a healthy and happy life.

Understanding the Human Body

Understanding what makes the human body work is a must if you are learning good fitness and health. Your body systems make you function as a human being. If any one of these systems are injured or not fed the proper nutrition, they begin to overwork and your body must react to protect itself. If the injury or illness isn't taken care of, this will result in permanent damage that will directly affect how your body will function.

The human body systems each work together to create the human machine. Each provide a specific function that allows you to function the way you do.
